It's official! The TLA will sponsor a constitutional seminar, A Constitution Primer--Its Fundamentals and Relevancy Today, on Saturday January 24, 2009. The class taught by Badnarik usually costs $100, but with TLA sponsorship, tickets will be available for an early bird rate of $40 through December 15th! This would make a great Christmas present!

The seminar will be held at Roane State Community College in Oak Ridge. Mark your calendars now for this very important educational event. Student scholarships are to be offered for high school and college students. Tickets will be available November 17th. Simply submit your contact information and you will be contacted by a TLA member.

Flyer for the the meeting:

Michael Badnarik on the Constitution
Since the presidential primaries began eons ago, there is one word that has surfaced and thrown around in many ways by both parties. It had become almost a buzz word of the election that seemed to resonate with much of the American people.
That word is CONSTITUTION.
The US Constitution has been invoked in many a political discussion over the past election cycle. Sometimes correctly, and sometimes not so correctly. But what does the constitution really say about the problems we are having in this country…indeed the world? What really is a constitutional issue and what is not?
Well, mark your calendars now and plan to join us in January for an extensive one-day study of the United States Constitution!
The Tennessee Liberty Alliance will sponsor a constitution primer, A Constitution Primer—Its Fundamentals and Relevancy Today, on Saturday January 24, 2009. This event will be held at the Roane State campus in Oak Ridge.

Whether or not the past election ended in a satisfactory way or not is open for gigantic debate at many levels. However, whether or not an issue is constitutional or not should not be open for such debate. The big question is will we choose to allow our elected officials to tell us what is constitutional and what isn’t?
Join us for this event and learn for yourself. Space is limited. Get your tickets today!
There are hotels in the area. If you need help finding one let me know.

This week we are honored to have as our primary speaker Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr.
Anyone who follows either monetary or 2nd Amendment issues knows that the name Edwin Vieira has been connected to the patriot movement longer than many of us have been alive. The author of numerous books and monographs on economics, Dr. Vieira is perhaps America?s foremost expert on the history of 'money' in the United States. (As well as perhaps the best educated among the patriot community, having several Harvard degrees, including Juris Doctorate.) His 1982 work, 'Pieces of Eight: The Monetary Powers and Disabilities of the United States Constitution' (recently updated into two volumes) stands alone as the source for information on America?s rise to world domination under a stable (silver) currency, followed by its decline after the creation and establishment of a fiat-based Federal Reserve System.
Some time back, Dr. Vieira drafted a piece of model legislation to put into practice Article I § 10 of the US Constitution. This is a dynamic notion, and well ahead of its time. Now, however, with such turbo-charged state leadership teams as our movement has, and with our ever-growing presence in state capitols around the nation, THE TIME HAS COME to begin training our state legislators on this subject.
Imagine, if you can, the prospect of EVERY TRANSACTION involving a State to be compelled in constitutional money! Silver and gold would IMMEDIATELY begin flowing TOWARD that state, creating enormous wealth and prosperity for both the State and the people. In a time when economic disaster looms on the horizon, we must now begin working on the re-establishment of a SOUND monetary exchange mechanism, to protect our states from disaster.
Dr. Vieira is gearing his talk with us on those political nuances he has discovered from working this issue recently in New Hampshire. By plugging our team into this, we will be able to launch similar campaigns in perhaps a dozen or more states simultaneously, tailoring the legislative angle toward the unique circumstances in each.

STATE COORDINATORS WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS CALL!
If you watched America: Freedom to Fascism, you will remember Dr. Vieira sitting on a sofa, speaking about the Federal Reserve, and our need to return to hard money. Not just a whimsical idea, our team NOW HAS THE LEGISLATIVE MODEL NEEDED TO MAKE THIS A REALITY THROUGH THE SOVEREIGN AUTHORITY AND CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATES right in our hands!
People have asked: 'ok, after the Real ID fight, what next?' You are about to find out. The NVCCA/RTR coalition has developed a dozen high-impact items of model legislation, aimed at steering our ships of states back toward the Constitutional Republic they departed. Over the next few weeks, we will be discussing each of these items, and passing out the 'packets' needed to educate our state legislators on these subjects.
Also JUST IN is the draft of our 'paper ballot' packet. This will be available shortly! (More on it next week.)

To give you a brief of what to expect on THIS call, and to prepare your mind to be at the level needed to actively participate in the discussion, attached is a monograph Dr. Vieira wrote several years ago entitled 'The Constitutional Authority of the States and the President to Intervene on Behalf of Sound Money.' The last pages are the model legislation (which is also available on the 'Legislative' page of www.nvcca.net ).
We are also working to bring to this call some activists from the State of Maine, to plan a response strategy based on recent Real ID developments there.
This is going to be another outstanding learning experience for all involved.
Because of the nature of this call, we will be limiting questions directed to Dr. Vieira to only those people who are state coordinators for RTR/NVCCA. PLEASE be courteous and mute yourself (*6) to prevent any background noise from disrupting the discussion. If you are not a state coordinator, but have questions for our guests, please type and e-mail them to your state leader for presentation.
Thank you!
Aaron Bolinger for the RTR/NVCCA conference management team

Mid Atlantic Regional Conference Call TONIGHT!
We are having a VERY IMPORTANT call this evening! Recent Real ID and other developments on the political scene mean we MUST plan our upcoming activities carefully, and execute them with surgical precision. Our general and standard time scheduling for state reports is going to be pre-empted tonight for a full-on, hardball look at what needs to be done over the next few weeks. Specifically, there are going to be discussions on NEW strategies, some detailed training in constitutional law, state's rights, and how our legislators SHOULD try to address these problems.
Governor Sanford, in his press conference yesterday, gave us a few clues. Battle lines have been drawn. Now it is up to us to CREATE CHANGES in how we view this state/federal relationship, then convey this insight to our state elected officials.
It is urgent for all our activists to participate in this call, to take notes, and to FOLLOW THROUGH with this plan of action. Guest speakers may appear, and do not be at all surprized if this call lasts 3 hours or more. Expect to learn a great deal from some of the best minds in the patriot movement.

NEW TRAINING MATERIALS!

Many folks are new to this movement. Videos explaining the state legislative process, and things we can do to WIN within it, are now up in the MEDIA page of the NV CCA site. Watch these vids if you are still wet behind the ears politically: http://01a436f.netsolhost.com/dotnet/Media/tabid/60/Default.aspx Then join with the rest of us on our weekly REGIONAL conference call to see what is going on in YOUR state. All are welcome.

LIBRARY & RESEARCH CENTER Update
The NV CCA National Library and Research Center in Western PA is up and running. More things are needed to make it fully functional for our nationwide team of activists. The home page of www.nvcca.net has a chip-in location set up for donations via pay pal, etc. We need to reach our next $5000 goal to enable MORE video production, and other elements of collaborative bill drafting and document preparation for our nationwide teams of coordinators and activists. If you like what we have done already, give us a few bucks to work with and watch the fireworks! I hate to be cliché, but we have done so much for so long with so little, we probably can do anything with nothing. But why should we? Dig deep, and help a little! Give this bunch something to work with, and we could be winning multiple battles simultaneously. We don?t have the Ford & Rockefeller Foundations behind us. Tis up to you folks! http://01a436f.netsolhost.com/dotnet/

Hope to be with you on the call.
Aaron
